Green Breakfast Smoothie

Last night I watched “Fat, sick and nearly dead”, a documentary film about a guy who goes on a juice fast for 60 days to lose weight and help him get into a more healthy lifestyle. Its a real eye opener and I recommend it to everyone to watch.

I felt like I should get back on the green smoothies, as my healthy eating has been slipping recently.

Green smoothies or juices are great to add to your diet to provide a source of micro nutrients. I feel that smoothies are best if you are using them as a meal replacement. A green smoothie is still a whole food, complete with fiber and all nutrients, whereas a juice is lacking in fiber, and some nutrients are lost. Smoothies are also more filling than juices, so you feel like you have actually eaten!

This smoothie contained:
1 banana
1 green apple
1 handful kale
1 handful baby spinach
1 tablespoon soaked chia seeds
