Homemade cosmetics

homemade cosmetics

All of my cosmetics are currently store bought and laden with chemicals. The thought of making my own cosmetics does seem rather daunting, but having had a hunt around on pinterest this evening, it seems much more achievable. Most products can be made with as few as two ingredients, and you can choose any scents or flavours that suit your tastes.

The main products that I use, and would like to try making are;

– Shampoo (No-poo)

– Deodorant

– Foundation

– Bronzer

– Mascara

Products like lip balm look like a fun option to try, and would make nice gifts too!

Have you tried making your own cosmetics, and how did they turn out?

  1. I’ve seen different solutions for shampoo. One is to use diluted castile soap (Dr. Bronners), or to use baking soda and an raw apple cider vinegar rinse (Braggs). I’ve used the castile soap and used ACV as a light cleanse. I didn’t like the baking soda ‘no poo’ but there are a lot of people online that like it. Hope this helped!
